It has since become one of Sardinia's most decorated whites.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eSiddùra farms Vermentino around Luogosanto, in Gallura in the island's north-east, at about 300 metres on granite and sandy soils. Maìa is a Vermentino di Gallura DOCG Superiore. The grapes are hand-picked and selected, given a short cold soak, fermented in truncated-cone vats, then matured on their fine lees partly in large oak. It won the Vermentino Award at Diano Castello against 125 other Vermentinos.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eMore texture than most Vermentino: citrus, white peach, a hint of tropical fruit and wild Mediterranean herbs, with a round, full palate and a fresh finish.
